Hyperhydrosis - Sweat Therapy

Excessive sweating is a common problem. It is most often "idiopathic", meaning it is not associated with any underlying medical condition, but it is always important that your medical practitioner take a proper history and sometimes obtain blood work where warranted to insure there is no underlying cause.

Fortunately excessive sweating is readily treatable. Treatment options can include:

Oral or topical medication

Iontophoresis

An electrical water bath treatment most useful for excessive sweating involving feet

Botox Injections

Laser Treatment

Electromagnetic Microwave Energy Devices

Surgical Sweat Gland Removal

TREATMENT

Which Is The Right For Me?

At Carlton Cosmetic Clinic we can discuss all your treatment options and help you make the choice that's right for you. Treatment with Botox injections is a popular, as it is easy, quick, affordable, minimally uncomfortable, and minimally invasive, as well as highly effective.

How Long Does It Last?

The majority of patients with hyperhydrosis will respond to injections. Improvement is long lasting, varying from 3 to 12 months, with a mean of 6 months. When carried out for hands or feet, numbing cream or anaesthetic nerve blocks may be needed prior to treatment to improve comfort. Underarm injections are often done with ice alone, or sometimes a topical numbing agent.

COST

Is It Covered?

If you have private health insurance, the cost of Botox medication for excessive sweating may be covered (the fee for the injection procedure itself, however, is most usually not covered).

If you suffer from excessive sweating, call today to arrange a consultation.
